A short walk from Sien Lok Park along the River Walk near Prince’s Island Park in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The River Walk runs many kilometres along the Bow River.

This part of the River Walk is adjacent to a bird sanctuary/natural area that is located on Prince’s Island Park. The water you see is a small diversion of the Bow River to feed water into the sanctuary.

The water way has a tiny damn for controlling the water levels in the bird sanctuary and it creates some small white water that the ducks love playing in.

Some years you will find beavers chopping down the trees to make their own damns. Notice the metal mesh fencing around the base of the trees? That’s to stop beavers. It does not always work!

I was walking on the South side of the island. The Bow River is located North on the other side of the island.
