We’re always looking for fall family activities to do in Calgary, and downtown is one of our favourite places for a weekend adventure. I recommend you stop at The Black Sheep patisserie on 17th Ave for croissants and hot drinks, they’re pastries are our favourite in the city, incredibly buttery and French!

Next, head to Calgary’s downtown gem, Prince’s Island park for a wander through the east end of the island where there are paths through the wetland and you can find a great view of the classic Centre Street Bridge. After that, head west to enjoy the gardens, the playground, and all of the big old trees with their boughs of fall foliage in the first week of October. There were so many autumn leaves to enjoy, piling them high or throwing handfuls at one another.

The bridge at the centre of Prince’s Island Park is currently closed for construction, so start your journey by crossing the Bow River to the island at either the far east or west end for now!
